I am proud to announce that I am organizing my first contest ever. In fact, there was a real need for me to organize a contest since all of my friends have already organized one.
Well, the contest is very simple indeed.

First, let’s talk about the prizes :
1st : 900 EC’s
2nd : 400 EC’s
3rd : 200 EC’s

Which is the best design tool for building your website?
Some would say dreamweaver, some would say Expression Web….but It really depends on what you intend to do, and which scripting language you will use as support.
I have dressed a list to illustrate the pros and cons of each tool.

DREAMWEAVER

• Is dominating the market, and is accepted as a standard
• Supports ASP, PHP, JSP and CMF
• Support for mactintosh
• Integrates with Flash and Fireworks features
• Bug free (almost)
• Supplies interesting templates
• Is integrated with Photoshop and Flash

EXPRESSION WEB

• Easy to learn
• Does not allow bad tags/codes
• Excellent Support for CSS
• Good support of ASP.NET
• “Light” in terms of memory usage
• 2.0 version support PHP

Now let’s see the cons of both tool’s

DREAMWEAVER

• Does not support ASP.NET2.0
• Almost difficult to learn
• Support for mactintosh
• CSS and HTML errors have to be found manually
• Does not integrate well with other programs
• Expensive !!!

EXPRESSION WEB

• Few templates available
• Bad reputation (Since it is a microsoft product)
• No dynamic script templates, like Blogs, CMC, BB.

Personnaly, I prefer dreamweaver, but EW is worth a try…

After being desperate with my blog yesterday, I finally picked up some courage to blog. After reading posts on other blogs, I came across stuffs which made me realize that blogging is worth. So, I am about to monetize my blog, but before doing so, I should have a good alexa traffic rank and a good google pagerank.

I heard that in order to get good PageRank, a site (or blog whatever) should have valuable content and lots of backlinks. Well, I don’t have these yet…so I am actually targeting traffic rank from alexa.

So, to get traffic rank, there should be lots of visitors visiting my site everyday…I do think that targeting traffic would be much easier for me.

Today I discovered something exciting and interesting on how to boost my traffic rank. That thing is Entrecard. I know that I am a bit late about it, so don’t pff me. I came across it on the vincentlecluse.com

An entrecard is some sort of ad that you can place on blogs that possess Entrecard. The more you have your ads on sites, the more it will generate traffic. However, you should have credit in order to advertise.

There are many ways to earn credit:

• The easiest one is to ‘drop’ Entrecards
• Your Entrecard being dropped
• participate in contests that offer credit

Considering these options, I’ve done all, but I came on an easy contest on this blog.All you have to do is to read the instructions and full-fill the requirements.

So, for the sake of this contest, I am putting those two links on this post

Finally a new post…yes yes.
Makes long time since I haven’t written anything on my blog. The truth is that I was short of ideas, and I’m still. Before having my blog, I thought blogging was something easy, but now I think contrarily. IT’s DIFFICULT! Yes, that’s true.

Blogging require much time from the blogger, and the latter should be a good writer to makes posts interesting to read…and on top, he should be good in english.
Ohh English…what a troublesome language.

I have some friends possessing blogs too, and I see how much they are dedicated to it. Their blogs are doing so well, but why mine not?
If they can, why can’t I?

I do have much time on my hand after my working time and though I don’t find time to blog…
In such a situation, I think it’s time for me to abandon blogging…unless you encourage me.
If in the coming days I don’t have interesting comments to post, I’ll just give up…

Have you ever heard of beryl ? Or would I say : Have you ever seen beryl? You should be asking yourselves : “what is the beryl this guy is talking about ? ”

This post is intended mostly intended for linux resisters.

As you may know, most of the population use windows (XP, Vista…whatever) as operating system. But why? Knowing that there are other platforms even better, and on top free, how come windows is still the most popular OS ?? A rather difficult question..but I guess I can have different answers from each of you.

Personally, I do think that windows is very popular because compared to most linux GUI, it is more user friendly…and compared to MAC’s, it’s more affordable. (Talking about the prices)

But what would happen if one day the price of windows OS doubled or trippled? What would you do? Ahh…am sure that most of you be traumatized

Would you choose a linux as OS ? If your answer to this question is no, I advise you to fasten your seat belts and open wide your eyes…

Well, as you noticed, the title of my tagline is coding for survival. For those who ask themselves why, well the answer is simple. I am actually working as web developer. All I do the whole day is coding coding and coding…

The truth is that I love coding. During my scholarship, I was fond of programming languages such as PHP, JAVA, C# etc.. ( The list is long  ) The only thing which motivated me was challenge. Everyday I woke up and told myself that I should become better than I was yesterday…And this motto helped me to progress.

Unfortunately, now it seems that I have lost the motivation I had once. Maybe because I have no challenging projects to do at work…Maybe I grown up lazy…who knows !?!

Can anyone advise me?

Anyways, we’ll see what happens later…or I shoud rather say that I will see what happens to me. Hope you wish me luck
